O cotidiano dos traficantes e moradores da favela Santa Marta, no Rio de Janeiro. Resultado de dois anos (1997-1998) de entrevistas com pessoas ligadas diretamente ao tráfico de entorpecentes, com moradores que vivenciam essa rotina de perto e com policiais, o documentário, feito originalmente para a televisão, coloca todos no mesmo patamar de envolvimento em uma “guerra particular” em meio ao apartheid social da cidade.
Entre os entrevistados estão o ex-capitão do BOPE Rodrigo Pimentel, o escritor Paulo Lins, o delegado Hélio Luz e o ex-Secretário de Segurança Pública Nilton Cerqueira.
Filmado em 16 mm e masterizado em beta digital, este programa foi ao ar no canal GNT/Globosat em abril de 1999 e teve grande influência sobre o cinema brasileiro dos anos seguintes.
